Veteran rockers April Wine will be inducted into the Canadian Music Industry Hall Of Fame and be given a lifetime achievement award on March 13 during the Canadian Radio Music Awards at Toronto's Royal York Hotel as part of Canadian Music Week.

April Wine formed in Halifax in 1969 and became one of Canada's biggest bands in the '70s with such hits as "You Could Have Been A Lady," "Roller," "I Like To Rock," "Say Hello," "Just Between You And Me" and "Enough Is Enough." The band have had a number of lineup changes over the years but have released 16 albums and continue to tour. Frontman Myles Goodwin received a lifetime achievement award from the East Coast Music Association in 2003.

Heavy metal band Anvil will be inducted into the Indies Hall Of Fame on March 14 during the ninth annual Independent Music Awards in the same venue.

Anvil were formed in Toronto in 1981 by singer/guitarist Steve "Lips" Kudlow, drummer Robb Reiner, guitarist Dave Allison and Ian Dickson. They've released 13 albums, toured the U.K. with Motorhead and played Japan's Super Rock festival series with Bon Jovi, Whitesnake and Scorpions in the mid-'80s. The band have had a resurgence of popularity since becoming the subject of the award-winning Anvil! The Story Of Anvil documentary that debuted at the Sundance Festival in January.
