Sum 41 Recording EP

Deryck Whibley has apparently been doing more than saying his marriage to Avril Lavigne isn't on the rocks.
He's been blogging and recording, according to a message he posted on the Sum 41 website on Monday.
"we've been in the studio recording this week," the diminutive singer, songwriter and musician wrote. "we've recorded 7 new songs that we hope to put on an EP album that will come out early next year.
"stevo finished all the drums and now cone is laying down his bass. also our greatest hits CD came out in japan last week and debuted at #2! so thank you to all of our fans over there."
That greatest hits album is titled 8 Years Of Blood, Sake And Tears and was released in the land of the rising sun on Nov. 26. It's not available anywhere else.
Sum 41's last album was Underclass Hero. It came out in the summer of 2007, but it seems like it was longer ago than that. I guess it just didn't leave much of an impression, even though it topped the Canadian sales chart and has moved more than 100,000 copies domestically. It has sold more than 600,000 copies in Japan. That's why they got the hits package.
Whibley promises more updates. We can hardly wait.
