If you thought Anywhere I Lay My Head, Scarlett Johansson's album that was mostly filled with Tom Waits covers, was a one-off, you're wrong.
Johasson now wants to record a follow-up that would feature original material. She says she's so busy that it wouldn't be out for a while, but it's something she wants to do.
"I don't think I'd do covers, so it'd be a project that I have to dedicate myself to," she told MTV News. "I feel like that's something for the future."
Anywhere I Lay My Head featured 11 songs, 10 of which were originally written by Waits. The other track was an original composition written by Johansson and the disc's producer, TV On The Radio's David Andrew Sitek.
Despite Johansson's desire to include more original material on her next album, she hasn't abandoned the idea of doing more covers. She said she'd like to record Leonard Cohen songs when she announced Anywhere I Lay My Head's release in February. Cohen's name came up again on Monday.
We're pretty sure she shouldn't cover "Hallelujah." When even X Factor contestants are recording it, you know it's been done to death. But if Anywhere I Lay My Head is any indication of Johansson's musical talent, she should probably just stick to acting.
