Axl Rose Talks To Fans

Axl Rose still isn't talking to journalists, but he chatted with fans on the message boards of the MyGNR.com and Here Today... Gone To Hell websites on Thursday night.

On Here Today, the Guns N' Roses mastermind said he hasn't been involved much in band merchandise because "it's been a mess legally for years" and that "unbeknownst to most of you I was recently sued again by Duff and Slash for some murky Merckiness that I was unaware and not involved in."

When asked if he had a tentative idea on when the next GNR CD will come out, Rose replied, "No, maybe same bat time, same bat channel next year but we'll have to see."

Rose also touched briefly on his cat, how Buckethead is "more than welcome to tour" with him again and how former Electric Light Orchestra and Traveling Wilburys member Jeff Lynne is a "true hero."

Things weren't as friendly on MyGNR, where Rose was criticized for being inaccessible. The word "cunt" was used a number of times by both the singer and a "fan."

We particularly liked this line that was thrown at Rose: "After all the years of telling people to suck your dick you'd think you'd grow a fucking pair to actually speak or say something after the release other than hiding in the batcave under your desk while WASP plays with strippers going up and down."

Since Chinese Democracy took 14 years to come out, one fan asked Rose if he had two or three other albums of material on hand.

"For now we'll concentrate and keep our focus on this album but I will say I've always thought of it as a double," was the somewhat cryptic response.

When asked if he's been in touch with former GNR drummer Steven Adler, who's had legal problems arising from his drug use, Rose said, "do wish Steven the best and in my heart hope that he finds some peace and security. As far as direct contact no. It unfortunately gets too messy too quick. In Steven's mind I'm the one who holds the keys and power over his happiness so I'm the bad guy pretty quickly."

Rose also explained why GNR shows usually start so late.

"I've been an after midnight type since I was sneakin' out of my house in Jr. High. With old Guns we preferred 12am or so. When we moved to theaters etc obviously that changes but it's never changed inside me. Doesn't matter what I do so generally that's when I'm more myself. This isn't to mess with anyone that has an early schedule to keep it's just personal preference."

Finally, West was asked what he thought of Kanye West's 808s & Heartbreak outselling Chinese Democracy. We'll leave you with his answer:

"I met Kanye at the Versace awards. He was very gracious. I love Gold Digger and told him so. I'm a big fan of his stage performance as he seems to go for it physically which I relate more to. B4 r release I sent him a msg that any nonsense from the media had nothing to do with us and wished him the best. I'm humbled we've done as well as we have considering."
