Joel Plaskett Times Three

Halifax rocker Joel Plaskett is no elf, but he's been busy making things lately.
Plaskett told CBC Radio 3 on Wednesday that he has a triple album in the works. His sixth full-length album, appropriately titled Three, will likely be out sometime in February. Each disc will have nine songs, for a total of 27. None of the CDs are more than 35 minutes.
Plaskett said the number three is significant in many ways on the album, including the number of tracks it includes and songs that use the same word three times.
"It sort of works into this numerology freakishness that I've… It's got a bit of a obsessive compulsive vibe to it," he told Radio 3 host Grant Lawrence.
Plaskett plans to tour behind the album in April or May, but no dates have been announced yet. He has a single show scheduled in Vancouver on Feb. 12 with Sarah McLachlan as part of the 2010 (adds up to three) Cultural Olympiad.
Plaskett has also been in the studio producing Prince Edward Island pop band Two Hours Traffic's new album.
He was also nominated for two East Coast Music Awards on Thursday.
