Hedley, F11, LIGHTS Receive Radio Nominations

Hedley and Finger Eleven are both up for two Canadian Radio Music Awards, which will be given away at a lunchtime show at Toronto's Fairmont Royal York Hotel on March 13 as part of Canadian Music Week.

The two bands join Kreesha Turner, State Of Shock and Theory Of A Deadman in the fans' choice category. Devotees can cast their ballots for their favourite act on the Canadian Music Week website.

Nominees Age of Daze, Crash Parallel, LIGHTS and Jaydee Bixby are slated to perform at the event.

Nominees in the format categories are artists who've hit Canadian radio charts for the first time and achieved top airplay in different formats in 2008. Winners are determined through votes cast by radio station music directors, program directors and on-air personalities.

Two additional non-voting awards will also be presented: The FACTOR Breakthrough Award for top airplay for a new FACTOR-supported artist; and The Chart Topper Award for top overall airplay.

Rock veterans April Wine will receive a lifetime achievement award to commemorate their induction into the Canadian Music Industry Hall Of Fame.

Canadian Music Week is comprised of two conferences, a trade exposition, four awards shows and a March 12 to 14 music festival that will take over clubs across downtown Toronto. You can find more details and buy tickets, wristbands and passes on the CMW site.
