Jeff Martin may have exiled himself to Ireland after The Tea Party’s break-up in 2005, but he's back with reinforcements.
Martin's new band, The Armada, features Irish percussionist Wayne Sheehy and bass/keyboard player Gareth Forsyth. They recently released their self-titled debut and shot a video for "Morocco" in Australia in November.
The Armada will play Infinity in Williamsville, N.Y. on Dec. 20 and Toronto's Diesel Playhouse on Jan. 3. They'll head to the Tea Party stronghold of Australia in April before returning to Canada to play shows in May. European dates will follow in June.
Martin played a number of Canadian shows in support of his 2006 solo debut, Exile And The Kingdom. His most recent Canuck performances were in April in Quebec City and Fredericton, N.B. Martin and Sheehy played acoustic versions of songs from that album as well as old Tea Party favourites.
