Matt Mays & El Torpedo and Gordie Sampson both received five East Coast Music Award nominations on Thursday in the ceremony's host city of Corner Brook, Nfld.

Hey Rosetta! and Jill Barber both picked up four nominations, while Christina Martin, David Myles, Tara Oram and The Tom Fun Orchestra got three each, and 16 others received two apiece.

Nominees were chosen by juries of music industry professionals from Canada's four easternmost provinces. The winners will be decided through voting by East Coast Music Association members.

A music festival and conference will take place in Corner Brook from Feb. 26 to March 1, and the whole affair will be capped off with the awards show at the Pepsi Centre. Damhnait Doyle, Brent Randall And His Pinecones, The Superfantastics and Brian Byrne are just a few of the artists who will showcase. More details are available on the ECMA website.

Tickets for various events are available through ticketpro.ca.
