Jon-Rae Fletcher will release a new Weewerk album called Oh, Maria on Feb. 3.

The disc is Fletcher's first since his band Jon-Rae & The River broke up a few years ago. No track list has been revealed, but you can hear six new demos on Fletcher's MySpace page.

Fletcher showcased songs that may appear on the album during a cross-Canada solo tour earlier this year. After The River broke up, Fletcher moved from Toronto back to Kelowna, B.C., where he worked in a restaurant and eventually began writing new songs.

Fletcher, a preacher's son, and The River released Old Songs For The New Town and The Road. Those albums were filled with songs about Jesus, while 2006's Knows What You Need, his last album with that band, was a bit of a 180, since it included songs about sex.

Logically, this album will centre on sex with Jesus.

You can see Fletcher here:

Dec. 26 Kelowna, BC @ OK Mission Hall w/Ladyhawk, Yukon Blonde, Tiger Cat and Kingdom Cloud
March 7 Toronto, ON @ Horseshoe Tavern w/United Steel Workers Of Montreal
March 14 Toronto, ON @ Lee's Palace w/Herman Dune, The Acorn, Cuff The Duke and Basia Bulat (CMW 2009 showcase)
