BNL participated on CBC Radio One's Sounds Of The Season broadcast on Saturday at Toronto's Glenn Gould Studio. They joined Divine Brown, Sarah Slean and others at the event, which raised more than $160,000 for Toronto's Daily Bread Food Bank. Admission was free, but fans were encouraged to bring a non-perishable food or cash donation.
The band were in New York City to take part in a Christmas tree-lighting ceremony on Live With Regis And Kelly on Dec. 2. They performed shows for both kids and adults at Toronto's Massey Hall on the weekend.
Barenaked Ladies will set sail with lots of musical friends on their fifth annual Ships And Dip cruise on Feb. 1. Page will do his best to keep away from all the on-board buffets since he recently blogged about losing 40 pounds after seeing a nutritionist and committing to taking better care of himself.
Page admitted in the blog that his drug bust has made 2008 a terrible year for him, but he also has "many things to be happy and grateful for: Falling in love, a renewed sense of peace, the best health of my adult life, some amazing creative and artistic opportunities, and the chance for a renewed and fruitful relationship with my band, friends and loved ones."
