Courtney Love told
Elle Magazine that she had a public meltdown long before
Britney Spears, and deserves credit for it.
"I had a long, hard fall," said Love. "I set the stage for Britney to crash and burn. I went through it all first."
Uh, hasn't she ever heard of
Adam Ant?
Both Love and Spears temporarily lost custody of their children because of drug problem allegations, and both have spent time in rehab. Maybe Love's just jealous that Spears' antics didn't destroy her career (or face). Spears' 2007 crazy-period album,
Blackout, reached #2 on the U.S. sales chart. Love's last record,
America's Sweetheart, peaked at #52.
Love also talked with
Elle about her weight loss. That's one thing she can't say Spears stole from her. Spears was criticized for being out of shape at the 2007 MTV Video Awards, while Love's weight has fluctuated dramatically in recent years.
Love's latest run-on ramblings can be found in this Nov. 28 MySpace
blog entry. Good luck trying to get through it.

Wow, your obvious dislike for Ms. Love comes across here, right down to the the photo you chose (which has been PROVEN to be a photoshopped FAKE to make Love's mouth look...unfortunate). I'm staring at the actual Elle artcle here, and you have twisted Love's statement into seeming like she meant to say she was "first" as something positive. She was simply making the observation that the paparazzi and tabloids had their disgusting obsession and preoccupation with her downward spiral as sort of the test run for Spears. Or maybe 2004 is too far back for you to remember? Watching these poor girls meltdown, while no one protected them, and everyone else laughed says many sad things about our culture. Chartattack and especially Ms. Savoie should be ashamed and disgusted with themselves for A) Partaking in the cultural equivilant to 'An American Crime' B) Behaving like the laughing, inhuman 4 men of power in 'Salo'.
