Blake Fielder-Civil is back in prison after he escaped from rehab.

Fielder-Civil, who had claimed he was clean in an interview earlier this week with Britain's News Of The World tabloid, failed a mandatory drug test and broke the conditions of his release. This means Amy Winehouse's husband could stay in prison until 2010.

After Fielder-Civil fled the Live Works rehab centre, he showed up at the London, England hospital where Winehouse is recovering from a seizure.

"Blake did a runner," a source told Britain's The Sun tabloid. "He turned up in hospital and hell broke loose — everyone was totally shocked.

"He was asking Amy to forgive him. As he was going back inside anyway he felt he didn't have much to lose."

Winehouse, who recently said her marriage was "over", is rumoured to have begun divorce proceedings against Fielder-Civil. She suffered a seizure (which, depending on who you believe, was a reaction to medication or came as a result of a bender after a fight with Fielder-Civil) last week and the British tabloids reported that she'd had divorce lawyers visit her in hospital.

The Sun now reports Fielder-Civil threatened to harm himself if she left him. He said earlier this week that he wouldn't return to Winehouse after he was released from rehab because he was responsible for introducing her to hard drugs and wanted to leave her for her own good.

"She had finally started stepping up divorce proceedings again but he started phoning again and getting inside her mind," one of Winehouse's friends told The Sun.

"Now he is out of the picture again, she can concentrate on getting her life on track."

Fielder-Civil was released from prison on Nov. 5 after serving 12 months of a 27-month sentence for attempting to pervert the cause of justice and grievous bodily harm. He was sentenced to jail time after he admitted to beating up pub landlord James King in 2006 and bribing him not to testify in court.

"If he had stayed in prison last month rather than taking the rehab option, he was set to be released at the end of this month," another source told The Sun. "He's blown it."

Winehouse had refused to pay Fielder-Civil's rehab bill, which cost some 30,000 British pounds (about $56,000 Canadian), but The Sun reports that Fielder-Civil talked her into it.
