New Neko Coming; New Pornographers Next

We've told you enough about Carl "A.C." Newman's Get Guilty album that's coming out on Jan. 20, so now it's time to let you know about another album coming from a New Pornographers member: Neko Case.

Case's Middle Cyclone, the follow-up to 2006's Fox Confessor Brings The Flood, is expected on March 3 via Anti- Records. It was produced by Case and Darryl Neudorf (Jim Bryson, Justin Rutledge) in Tucson, Ariz., Brooklyn, New York, Vermont and Toronto.

Middle Cyclone features Case's core band of guitarist Paul Rigby, bassist Tom V. Ray, singer Kelly Hogan, multi-instrumentalist Jon Rauhouse and drummer Barry Mirochnick. It includes guest contributions from The Band's Garth Hudson, Sarah Harmer, M. Ward, and members of Calexico, Los Lobos, Giant Sand, The Sadies, Visqueen, The Lilys and The New Pornographers. It includes covers of Harry Nilsson's "Don't Forget Me" and Sparks' "Never Turn Your Back On Mother Earth."

Case also told Rolling Stone magazine that the next New Pornographers album is starting to take shape.

"Carl told me the other day he's got a bunch of demos for the new record. So I'll be getting those pretty soon, and we'll probably start working on that in the new year."
