K-OS is looking for help for his forthcoming album.
The artist is inviting people to mix the stems for the 11 songs on Yes!, which is slated for an early 2009 release through K-OS' Crown Loyalist Recordings imprint and Universal Music Canada.
Submissions are due by Feb. 3 at noon EST, and people can vote for their favourites until then, although K-OS, his manager Terry McBride and Indaba Music's Mantis Evar will decide the winners. The creators of the 11 best remixes will receive $1,000 each and have their work featured on a Yes! companion album that's scheduled for the spring. The mixers of the top 10 entries for each track, according to vote totals, will receive signed copies of Yes!.
Stems for 10 of the 11 songs can now be accessed on the Indaba Music website, while the last track should be posted soon. K-OS offers his thoughts on each song on the site, where you can also see a video of his Toronto home studio.
K-OS will DJ at Calgary's Flames Central on Friday night.
