Jungle Book Name For Wentz's Child

It’s a jungle out there, especially when competing with fellow celebrities for the craziest baby name.

But Pete Wentz and Ashlee Simpson's kid takes the cake — er, banana.

On Tuesday, the Fall Out Boy bassist told Ryan Seacrest on his radio show that he and his wife named their son Bronx Mowgli Wentz after the character in The Jungle Book.

"The Jungle Book was something that me and Ashlee bonded over," said Wentz. "It's really cool.

"We came up with the idea Bronx. We've been throwing [ideas] back and forth for a while. It's kind of cool to just leave the narrative what it is. People are stoked or pissed or whatever. And you're like, you know what: I don't think anyone really has the real story."

While Bronx Mowgli will have much more than the bare necessities of life, you have to wonder about parents who watch Disney movies and think, "Hey, that would make a great baby name," or, "Hey, Alice In Wonderland is so cool, we should get married." The couple wed at an Alice In Wonderland-themed ceremony in May and had a Winnie The Pooh baby shower.

The Jungle Book is a fitting story for the couple. The Rudyard Kipling work is about a feral child who meets a village girl who shows him the ways of the world. Wentz admits that his wife looked after him before the birth of their child.

"Right before she went into labour, I was like, 'Oh my God, I think I'm having a heart attack!' My heart started beating really fast. You see your wife in all this pain, and you really don't know what's happening. [But Ashlee] took care of me and made sure I was OK, and then we went into labour."

We went into labour? We're pretty sure that Ashlee was the only one doing the pushing.

Bronx Mowgli is less than a week old, but in case the couple ever needs another baby name, Brooklyn Tinkerbell would be lovely for a girl.
