MCR Singer Expecting Baby

My Chemical Romance took a break this year after lots of touring in support of 2006's The Black Parade, but frontman Gerard Way was apparently doing more than just resting in his bed.

Way is expecting his first child with wife Lindsey "Lyn-Z" Ballato, who plays bass in Mindless Self Indulgence, in the spring. The couple were married backstage at a My Chemical Romance show in Denver, Colo. on Sept. 4, 2007.

Funnily enough, Mindless Self Indulgence guitarist Steven "Steve, Righ?" Montano and his partner Lucinda are also expecting their first child in the spring. We're wondering if these poor children were conceived in some strange backstage foursome... Awkward!

Way has also been hard at work on a comic book series called The Umbrella Academy. The latest installment comes out on Wednesday. Universal has optioned the series in the hopes of turning the books into a movie.

Mindless Self Indulgence still plan to tour despite half of their members dealing with pregnancies.

"It is very important that you hear this from us first and believe nothing to the contrary: While we will ask some of our friends to fill in for LynZ - and at a later date, Steve - so that they can be with their new families, neither member is leaving Mindless Self Indulgence permanently," wrote the band in a Nov. 25 blog post. "No shows will be cancelled -- in fact, we will be adding more throughout North America and beyond in the coming weeks."

The band have four U.S. dates lined up with Tub Ring and My Chemical Romance guitarist Frank Ieros' Leathermouth project in December. MSI will tour Europe in January and February.
