Crystal Castles Play NYC On NYE

You'd think considering we've often seen them wandering around Toronto's College Street, Crystal Castles would consider playing a New Year's Eve show in Toronto. But they've instead decided to head south of the border and play a show in New York City.

If you're in the Big Apple, you and some other American Apparel-wearing hipsters will be able to count down to midnight with singer Alice Glass and DJ/sound manipulator Ethan Kath at the Music Hall Of Williamsburg in Brooklyn on Dec. 31. Maybe Glass will celebrate by trashing everything on stage like she did with a drum set when Crystal Castles played Toronto's Harbourfront Centre in July. Heck, she's apparently the world's coolest person, so there are obviously much better places to play a New Year's gig than her own hometown.

As close as we'll get is a DJ set at Toronto's Wrongbar on Nov. 28 with Mikey Apples.

In other New Year's Eve news, Elliott Brood will spend theirs performing at Toronto's Lee's Palace with some special guests who haven't yet been announced. Tickets are available now through Ticketmaster, the Horseshoe Tavern, Soundscapes and Rotate This.
