Metric frontwoman Emily Haines will appear on the forthcoming album by American electro-rock duo The Crystal Method.
The Crystal Method's Scott Kirkland and Ken Jordan are in the midst of a North American tour where they're playing DJ sets, but they've been busy working on their fourth album and are testing material from it at their gigs.
"The album is different," Kirkland said in an interview with the Boston Herald. "There are big, organic live drums and distortion and lots of bass and that sort of bombastic sound that we've been doing for so many years.
"But lots of collaborations have taken it in lots of different directions. I think people are going to be happy with it."
In addition to Haines, the still-untitled follow-up to 2004's Legion Of Boom also features She Wants Revenge's Justin Warfield, Grandaddy's Jason Lytle, New Order's Peter Hook and The Heavy.
Kirkland and Jordan will be spinning tunes here:
Dec. 3 Calgary, AB @ Warehouse
Dec. 4 Vancouver, BC @ Celebrities Night Club
Dec. 17 Windsor, ON @ Boom Boom Room
Dec. 18 Toronto, ON @ The Social
Haines and her Metric bandmates will perform with Tokyo Police Club, The Dears, Sebastien Grainger & The Mountains and DJ Mike Relm as part of the charitable Jingle Bell Rock (or Help I'm Alive, take your pick) tour, which stops here:
Dec. 12-13 Toronto, ON @ Sound Academy
Dec. 15 Winnipeg, MB @ Burton Cummings Theatre
Dec. 16 Saskatoon, SK @ Prairieland Park
Dec. 17 Edmonton, AB @ Shaw Conference Centre
Dec. 19 Calgary, AB @ MacEwan Hall
Dec. 21-22 Vancouver, BC @ Vogue Theatre
