Waking Eyes, Mobile Play Nu Music

The Waking Eyes

October Chart magazine cover stars The Waking Eyes and Montreal alternative rockers Mobile are set to play the 15th anniversary of Dave Bookman's Nu Music Nite.

The free show starts at 9 p.m. on Nov. 25 at Toronto's Horseshoe Tavern.

Bookman, an on-air personality at 102.1 The Edge, started his weekly Nu Music Nite 15 years ago. The free event showcasing up-and-coming acts goes down at the Horseshoe every Tuesday.

Bookie's night is where The Strokes played their infamous Toronto breakout show in 2001. It's also generally considered ground zero for emerging Canadian rock bands.

The Horseshoe people have hinted that there'll be surprise special guest playing the event. We hope to god it's not a reunited-for-the-seventh-time Lowest Of The Low.
