Teenage Head Win Hamilton Music Awards

Teenage Head won seven Hamilton Music Awards on Sunday night.
The punk band's Teenage Head With Marky Ramone album won prizes for best record, punk record and engineer, while it also garnered late frontman Frankie Venom honours for male vocalist of the year. Teenage Head also picked up awards for best website and were given a lifetime achievement award, while guitarist Gord Lewis won for music teacher of the year.
Kathleen Edwards followed closely behind Teenage Head by winning "Hammies" for best female artist, female vocalist, songwriter and adult alterative album for the Polaris Music Prize-nominated Asking For Flowers. Daniel Lanois won three awards, while defunct hardcore troupe Cursed picked up a trophy for loud/metal recording of the year and Young Rival won the indie/alternative rock category.
