Although Axl Rose might have sung derisively about "faggots" on Guns N' Roses' "One In A Million," his former guitarist has just released a video that supports same-sex marriage.
Slash (real name Saul Hudson) and his wife Perla Hudson appear in a new video in which they voice their distaste for Proposition 8, which recently banned same-sex marriage in California. (Same-sex marriage was legalized in the state earlier this year.)
"I married my sweetheart," Perla Hudson says. "You should be able to marry yours, too. Say no to hate and yes to equal rights."
In related news, former Velvet Revolver frontman Scott Weiland recently told Playboy magazine that money (and the Stone Temple Pilots reunion) was the reason he was booted from the band earlier this year.
"When I told Slash I was gonna do some festivals with Stone Temple Pilots, he said, 'Thank you for being straight up with me,'" Weiland said. "It wasn't until later that another member of the band had some issues with it.
"It's a shame certain people have a hard time letting go of past resentments and try to throw them onto other people.
"When you start bickering about piddly financial things, it takes the fun out of it for me... We're all doing pretty good, so if you're going to fuck the relationship up over this, I don't want to be involved."
Weiland's new album, Happy In Galoshes, is due out Nov. 25, as is Guns N' Roses' Chinese Democracy. Who knows when anything new from Stone Temple Pilots or Velvet Revolver will be released.
