Golden Dogs Call It A Year

The Golden Dogs
The Golden Dogs recently got bumped from their slot opening for Electric Six in the U.S., but they could probably use the rest, anyway.

The effervescent Toronto pop/rock band, who opened for Sloan and Feist this year, shut things down after their Oct. 15 show in Toronto. That ended a run of about two years supporting their 2006 Big Eye Little Eye album, and they wrote in a recent MySpace blog entry that they're going to take time off to recharge their batteries.

"Now, you ask, what is next for the Golden Dogs? Well, we hibernate and make an album. Plain and simple. We've been looking forward to this for a long time. You may not hear from us for a little while, but, you know, [insert 'calm before the storm' metaphor here].

"We'll be back in action next spring. Keep yer ears to the ground."
