It's not enough for Beyonce to have one alter ego, Sasha Fierce. Now she wants to be Wonder Woman, too.
Beyonce recently told the Los Angeles Times newspaper that she'd be a good choice for the role and has expressed interest to representatives for Warner Bros. and DC Comics. A Wonder Woman movie has repeatedly stalled over the last few years. Joss Whedon (Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Angel) was working on the project until he left due to "creative differences."
"I want to do a superhero movie and what would be better than Wonder Woman?" Beyonce told the Los Angeles Times. "It would be great. And it would be a very bold choice. A black Wonder Woman would be a powerful thing. It's time for that, right?"
Beyonce told the newspaper that Wonder Woman's costume was one of the reasons she wanted the role, saying she'd have to keep fit in order to wear it.
"Now I have to do an action film," she said. "It's like dancing and choreography. And the superhero movies now, they're not corny, not corny at all, so that's what I want to do. And I would love if it could be Wonder Woman."
In addition to her recording career, Beyonce has starred in Dreamgirls, The Pink Panther, The Fighting Temptations and Austin Powers In Goldmember. She's currently working on a thriller directed by Steve Shill (Dexter, The Wire) called Obsessed that's due out in February.
Beyonce's new album, I Am... Sasha Fierce, will be released on Nov. 18.
