Reel Big Fish will release an album of covers titled
Fame, Fortune And Fornication on Jan. 20 through Rock Ridge Music.
The album features two covers that seem kind of obvious for Reel Big Fish: songs by Toots And The Maytals and Desmond Dekker. It also contains a few that are a bit less so, including tunes by Poison and The Eagles.
Fame, Fortune And Fornication was produced by frontman Aaron Barrett at Music Inc. Studios in Orange County, Calif. It will be available on CD and limited-edition special vinyl. You can hear a medley of
Fame, Fortune And Fornication's songs on Reel Big Fish's
MySpace page.
Reel Big Fish formed in 1992 and released their
Everything Sucks debut three years later. The band — who currently consist of singer/guitarist Barrett, trumpeter/keyboardist Scott Klopfenstein, bassist Derek Gibbs, trombonist Dan Regan, trumpeter John Christianson and drummer Ryland Steen — have previously covered songs by Social Distortion, Tracy Chapman and Morrissey. Their last full-length album was 2007's
Monkeys For Nothin' And The Chimps For Free.
