Crystal Castles' Glass: World's Coolest Person

Crystal Castles singer Alice Glass has topped the "2008 NME Cool List," a title awarded by the British music website and magazine to the Toronto screamer for being "a black hole at the centre of 2008, utterly magnetic yet thrillingly inscrutable."
When told she was the coolest person on earth, Glass responded, "I'm flattered, but back in school the people who held themselves in the same regard were the biggest waste of skin I've ever met."
She also told NME that her topping the list means her "pact with Satan hasn't expired yet."
Glass wasn't the only Canadian deemed cool in the poll. Fucked Up frontman Pink Eyes (a.k.a. Damian Abraham) ranked #11.
"The spirit of punk writ large, the swivel-eyed anarchy of Pink Eyes' onstage antics is doubly impressive when you consider that he also holds down a job in the film industry — though amazingly no-one he meets at work knows about his double life," wrote NME.
You can view the British-centric top 50 list and the reasons given for each person's inclusion and ranking on the NME.com website.
Crystal Castles will play a DJ set at Toronto's Wrongbar on Nov. 28.
