Vancouver folk rockers 21 Tandem Repeats will release their third album, No Junk Mail Please, on Nov. 18 through Canada Lynx Records.
Jazz guitarist Alvaro Rojas joined frontman Super Robertson, guitarist Alec Macaulay and drummer Chris Hobbs for No Junk Mail Please on bass. Additional guests include Mongoose's SHOCKK on drums and guitar and singer/songwriter Becky Till on vocals. You can preview five songs from the album on 21 Tandem Repeats' MySpace page.
"We chose this title so that we could include a sticker that, once applied to your mailbox, would cease the delivery of admail," says Robinson. "The music is the soundtrack of that sentiment."
That's all well and good, but it only works if the postal worker doesn't ignore the sticker.
21 Tandem Repeats formed in 2003 after Robertson released The Ocean Is Life, a 20-song CD that he recorded on a four-track cassette machine. Hobbs and Robertson had previously played together in outfits called Knockin' Dog and Roadbed. 21 Tandem Repeats' sophomore album, Never Wanted To Be Anyone, came out in 2006.
