Since today is Halloween, you're probably more concerned with costumes and candy than Christmas. But it's only 56 days away, so Yuletime plans should be next on your agenda.
And what better way to get into the spirit of the season than with singing saws?
Just like "Santa Claus Is Coming To Town,"
Julian Koster and the
Singing Saw Symphony are, too. Koster (the leader of The Music Tapes and a former member of Neutral Milk Hotel and Olivia Tremor Control) and friends are hitting the road in the U.S. in mid-November and will play in Toronto on Dec. 1 and Montreal on Dec. 4 in support of the recently released Merge Records album,
The Singing Saw At Christmastime.
But instead of performing in a club, they'll go from house to house singing and sawing Christmas songs and carols wherever they're invited. And since they currently have holes in their schedule between their Toronto and Montreal dates, they'll consider playing other Canadian cities if there's demand and it fits into their routing and schedule.
If you'd like Koster and the Singing Saws to come to your door, email them at musictapescaroling@gmail.com to invite them. You can also write them at:

Hopefully the McLean household will be on their agenda. I'll have rum and egg nog waiting.
