OhGr Returns With Devils

Skinny Puppy vocalist Nivek Ogre's other project, OhGr, will release their third album, Devils In My Details, on Nov. 4.
Ogre (real name Kevin Graham Ogilivie) and bandmate Mark Walk (Ruby) recorded the SPV Recordings release with the intention of emulating the immersive experience of Genesis' The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway and The Alan Parson Project's Tales Of Mystery And Imagination, which is pretty strange considering they're an industrial/electronic duo and those are prog-rock bands.
"I'm grateful to be able to make a record like this," says Ogre of the 11-track disc. "If we were in any other situation, the standard model is to write two hit singles and fill the holes as best you can.
"That's the mode a lot of musicians are in right now. We're trying to do things from the heart, regardless of what the commerce end of music dictates."
Actor Bill Moseley (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Army Of Darkness) contributes spoken-word elements to "Psychoreal" and lead single "Timebomb." The single and "Feelin' Chicken" can be previewed on OhGr's MySpace page.
Ogre officially formed OhGr as a full band in 2001, but it's now just a duo. OhGr's Welt debut came out in 2001 and their SunnyPsyOp sophomore release followed two years later.
Ogre is a cast member of Repo: The Genetic Opera — a film described as Blade Runner meets The Rocky Horror Picture Show — along with Paris Hilton, Paul Sorvino, Alexa Vega and Sarah Brightman, with whom Ogre performs two duets. It hits theatres in eight American cities on Nov. 7 and the soundtrack is available now. You can view the trailer here.
OhGr will launch a 25-date North American tour with openers American Memory Project on Nov. 18 in San Diego, Calif. American Memory Project are composed of two OhGr collaborators — filmmaker/guitarist William Morrison and drummer/composer Justin Bennett — who mix visual and audio elements in their performances. Dec. 2 Toronto, ON @ The Opera House
Dec. 3 Montreal, QC @ Les Saints
