Perry Planned Cake Slip?

Gym Class Heroes singer Travis McCoy says his girlfriend Katy Perry's cake-filled slip at last week's Los Premios, or the Latin American version of the MTV Video Awards, was done on purpose.

Perry (real name Kathryn Hudson) dove into a giant Quinceanera cake at the end of her performance of "I Kissed A Girl." (A Quinceanera is the Latin American equivalent of a "Sweet 16," except it's a much bigger deal and represents that a girl has become a woman.) Once she got off the cake, she wiped some of the pastry goodness off herself and threw it at her guitarist. But sticky bits of icing and cake under her feet made her fall back down.

Over the next few days, the press ate this up (sorry for the pun). Britain's The Times newspaper wrote that it was an on-stage disaster on the scale of Janet Jackson's Super Bowl wardrobe "malfunction." (We don't think that falling onto the floor covered in cake is quite on the same level as "accidentally" flashing one's boob in front of a TV audience of millions, but anyway...)

McCoy told MTV News that Perry planned the slip and told him so.

"She hit me right after the performance, 'Baby, you gotta see the performance! You gotta see the performance!' and I watched it," he told MTV News. "And I was like, 'Baby, did you fall?' and she's like, 'I did it on purpose.' I watched it a couple more times and... it was on purpose. She did it on purpose. It was all planned. I think she murdered it, man. The whole Quinceanera thing. She's a step above, a step ahead, you know? And I've always backed her, you know? It is what it is."

McCoy also told MTV News that he and Perry may be planning some sort of collaboration in the future, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're singing together. Is this some kind of innuendo? We already know the two have been knocking boots for a while now and he gave her a promise ring. Before you think there will soon be another type of ring on Perry's finger, we should clear that up. McCoy said he may produce something for Perry, but will not "be doing any duets anytime soon."

Perry also recently revealed that "I Kissed A Girl" is indeed autobiographical.

"Of course. I think I was 19. I kissed a girl and it was great," she told OK! Magazine.

We think we just heard the sound of every single lesbian and bisexual woman in the world groaning in boredom... and every single male getting an erection.
