Dirty Little Rabbits, a band featuring Slipknot percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan, have signed to The End Records.
The band features Crahan on drums, Stella Soleil on vocals, Ty Fyhrie on guitar, Jeff Karnowski on bass and Michael Pfaff on keyboards and organ. Dirty Little Rabbits released their three-song Breeding EP last year, and are currently working on new material.
The band will aim to release an EP in January and their full-length debut in April. According to Crahan, they've been recording at Iowa's Sound Farm Studios, where Slipknot recorded their recently released All Hope Is Gone.
"This is the band I've been waiting to be in my whole life," Crahan told MTV's Headbanger's Blog. "And it's more of an alternative band than a metal band. It's everything I've ever been into. And it's a thought process, it's a mindset. And this will be the band I end my life with. A lot of people don't know I'm more or less an alternative person in art and music. I didn't grow up obsessed with metal."
The band formed when Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson invited Crahan to his house to hear a drummer named Michael Pfaff. Crahan played the drums while Pfaff played the organ. He called Pfaff the next day and the two decided to form a band. Crahan added Soleil on vocals beacuse he says he wanted a band that would "represent the whole world, male and female."
Slipknot are currently touring Japan and will tour Europe throughout October, November and December, which means Dirty Little Rabbits have not scheduled any upcoming tour dates.
