Fall Out Boy have pushed back the release of their Folie A Deux album and have announced it will feature a guest appearance from Elvis Costello. (Do Fall Out Boy fans even know who he is?)

Costello will appear on Folie A Deux's third single, "What A Catch, Donnie," singing lines from the album's second single, "Headfirst Slide Into Cooperstown On A Bad Bet." Those songs, along with first single "I Don't Care," are now available on iTunes.

Fall Out Boy emailed the Absolutepunk website on Tuesday to confirm that Costello would be appearing on the track. The track features musicians doing vocals from the band's older songs, and includes appearances from Gym Class Heroes' Travis McCoy, William Beckett of The Academy Is..., Panic At The Disco's Brendon Urie and Cobra Starship's Gabe Saporta.

"I guess it's time to let the cat out of the bag," Wentz said in his email. "We didn't want to talk about this before we actually heard it. We've announced a couple of guests on the record but 'I wish you luck with a capital f' [which Costello sings on his song "Love Went Mad"] is just one of the thousands of genius ideas thought up by Elvis Costello and he's gonna be singing on Folie A Deux.

"This isn't a typical appearance as he's alongside the guys in a couple of the Decaydence [Wentz's label] bands on the song. Either way, this has been an amazing experience for Fall Out Boy as he is one of our heroes, especially so for Patrick [Stump, vocals/guitar]. We can't wait for you to have the chance to hear it."

Folie A Deux was originally supposed to come out on Nov. 4, but has been pushed back to Dec. 16. The band wrote on their website that they thought it was no longer wise to release an album on the American election day.

"Six months ago we thought it would be a fun idea to release our album on Election Day but this is not the election to be cute," the band wrote. "We felt as though rather than making a commentary we were only riding the wave of the election. This seemed less and less like what we intended to do and more of a gimmick."

While Fall Out Boy fans will have to wait a few more weeks for the follow-up to last year's Infinity On High, the band also say they will launch a campaign based on a "series of 'golden tickets' that we promise will be unlike anything you have ever seen." They're also planning a series of album-leadup podcasts and "an extensive preorder campaign" that they say will "take into account the current state of our economy."
