Chris Cornell will play some solo shows and gigs with Timbaland in the States before heading up north for a slew of Canadian dates.
The ex-Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman is heading out on the road in support of his third solo album, Scream (which depending on your point of view Cornell is either a curse or a blessing), which was produced by Timbaland. The album was supposed to be released this week via Interscope, but was then pushed back to Nov. 4.
Last month, Cornell spent a day in New York shooting a video with director Meiert Avis (U2, New Found Glory) for the single "Ground Zero."
"This was total guerilla style filming," Cornell wrote in his MySpace blog. "No extras. No food. No trailer. No lights. No anything but me, the song, a camera and the people of Brooklyn walking on the streets.
"I can't say enough about how amazing New Yorkers are. I could walk up to anyone in the middle of filming and they would jump right into the action. Digging on the song. Dancing. And enjoying life in the moment and the strange things that happen on the streets of New York."
You can preview the single, "Scream," "Watch Out" and "Long Gone" on Cornell's MySpace page.
But that's not the only place where you can hear a Cornell-penned tune. He co-wrote American Idol winner David Cook's new single, "Light On," which was released to radio last week. It seems Cook is trying to cash in on Cornell's talents once again, since his major breakthrough on Idol was his performance of Cornell's version of "Billie Jean" that appeared on his sophomore album, 2007's Carry On.
Cornell released his solo debut, Euphoria Morning, in 1999.
