Ex-Cure Keyboardist Goes Solo

Roger O'Donnell has played keyboards for The Cure, The Psychedelic Furs and The Thompson Twins, but he's only ever released one solo album. That will change when his sophomore disc, Songs From The Silver Box, comes out on Jan. 20.
The Great Society Records release is the follow-up to 2006's The Truth In Me. O'Donnell composed the record after he was asked to write and perform the music at a Paris fashion event for Georgian fashion designer Irakli. Songs From The Silver Box also features a guest appearance from Canadian singer/songwriter Erin Lang and Australian singer Lenka.
O'Donnell worked as a session musician for The Thompson Twins, Berlin and The Psychedelic Furs in the early '80s. Thereafter, his career moved from dorky synth-pop territory to angsty goth-rock when he joined The Cure to be their keyboardist, replacing Lol Tolhurst.
O'Donnell contributed songwriting to "Untitled" on The Cure's 1989 Disintegration release, but left the band the next year. He rejoined The Cure in 1995, and is featured on 1996's Wild Mood Swings, 2000's Bloodflowers and The Cure's most recent self-titled release, which came out in 2004. After The Cure fired him in 2005, O'Donnell recorded The Truth In Me. He also runs his own label, 99 Times Out Of 10.
Here are the tracks on Songs From The Silver Box:
"The Prince Of Time"
"Endlessly"
"In Your Hands Now"
"Falling"
"If You Were Alone"
"Changing"
"Tiny Pieces Of You"
"Always"
"Song (From The Silver Box)"
"Music Pour Irakli"
