Eagles Of Death Metal's Heart On

Eagles Of Death Metal
Boots Electric and Baby Duck are back. Um, we should say, Eagles Of Death Metal are back. The band featuring Josh Homme and Jesse Hughes will release their third album, Heart On, on Oct. 28 through Downtown Music.

The band's third studio release includes guest appearances from Homme's wife and Distillers frontwoman Brody Dalle, and Kat Von D, the tattoo artist on the Miami Ink television series. You can hear "Wannabe In LA" on the band's MySpace page.

Hughes recently got his heart on (on a plate, that is) at a Denny's restaurant in Hollywood, Calif., where he crafted his own custom heart-shaped pancakes topped with raspberry sauce, hot fudge, strawberries, white chocolate chips and whipped cream, with bacon and eggs on the side. He also helped craft a breakfast sandwich that can only be described as a heart attack on a plate. The "Heart On A Plate" pancakes are now available at your local Denny's (along with selections created by members of Taking Back Sunday, Plain White T's and The All-American Rejects), and you can watch Hughes creating his culinary delights below.

Hughes and Homme began playing together in 1998 and were included in the third and fourth volumes of The Desert Sessions that year. Their Peace, Love, Death Metal debut came out in 2004 and was followed by 2006's Death By Sexy. Homme doesn't perform with the band live, so Hughes is joined in performances by guitarist Dave Catching, bassist/singer Brian O'Connor and drummer Joey Castillo.
