Gallagher Back; Bennington And James Out

Oasis guitarist Noel Gallagher returned to the stage for the first time since he was attacked on stage at Toronto's Virgin Festival a month ago when his band launched their U.K. tour at Liverpool's Echo Arena on Tuesday night.
Gallagher suffered three broken ribs in the assault, which forced Oasis to postpone a number of North American shows. To try and insure that no crazies got near Gallagher on Tuesday, British boxer Ricky Hatton introduced the group and said that anyone who planned on getting on stage would "have me to deal with."
As for Daniel Sullivan, the man accused of attacking Noel Gallagher, he may also have Liam Gallagher to deal with. Noel's younger brother told Britain's Sky News that, if he had his way, Sullivan would be missing an important body part.
"If it was me, I'd have cut [the attacker's] dick off and made him eat it," he said.
While Gallagher is back, two other musicians have also suffered injuries that forced them to bow out of shows.
Linkin Park were forced to cancel a Las Vegas concert on Monday, and they've wiped out five dates this month in China, Macau and Taiwan after lead singer Chester Bennington suffered a mysterious back injury. A message on the group's website says Bennington "is under doctor's orders to refrain from traveling or any physical activities."
The Asian concerts were supposed to be fundraisers to help reconstruction projects in China's Sichuan Province, which was devastated by a major earthquake in May. But Linkin Park and concert promoter Emma Ticketmaster have made donations to the band's Music For Relief non-profit organization that will be matched by the World Bank to go towards the cause.
Linkin Park recorded a recent U.K. show that will be released as a CD/DVD combo and asked fans to submit and vote on a title for it. The poll closed on Wednesday, but the title hasn't yet been announced.
My Morning Jacket singer/guitarist Jim James was performing in Iowa City, Iowa on Tuesday night when he was hurt and rushed to hospital. Here's what happened, according to a statement the band posted on their website:
"We were finishing up the last few bars of 'Off The Record,' and just like any other night we were all having a great time. Jim went to get closer to the audience on his side of the stage, and as he moved forward to step onto the sub-woofer the lights darkened, and he inadvertently stepped off the stage. Upon falling, he suffered traumatic injuries to his torso, and was immediately taken to the hospital."
Doctors have told James to take it easy for the next two to three weeks to recover, which put the kibosh on Wednesday night's Barack Obama fundraising concert in Chicago, and two more shows in the windy city on Thursday and Friday.
