Former Tangiers frontman and Jewish Legend Josh Reichmann has a new group, the Josh Reichmann Oracle Band, whose Life Is Legal debut EP is out now through Paper Bag Records.
If you sign up to the Paper Bag mailing list, you'll be sent a link to download the EP until the end of this week. Life Is Legal was recorded at Toronto's Gigantic Studios, engineered by Sean Gugula (Neko Case) and produced by Reichmann. The band will release a full-length album in March. You can hear "Plant Words" and "Believe In Souls" on the band's MySpace page.
The Josh Reichmann Oracle Band includes Reichmann on guitar, bass and vocals, Joseph Shabason on saxophone and flute, Steve Singh on keyboards and Niko Kwiatkowski on drums and percussion. Live, the band are joined by bassist Jon Hynes and stage dancer Laura Bolton, a former National Ballet Of Canada member.
Reichmann released three albums as a member of Tangiers. His solo debut as Jewish Legend, Telepathy Now!, came out in 2006.
You can see the Josh Reichmann Oracle Band at Toronto's Wrongbar on Thursday with Anagram, Corpusse and One Hundred Dollars. See him when you get the chance 'cause you never know when he's going to get bored and go into hiding again.
Here's what's on Life Is Legal:
"Great Shadows"
"Ancient Bloody Paradise (I Miss You)"
"Plant Words"
"Believe In Souls"
"Runes"
