Publicist: Cobain's Ashes Not Stolen

In June, Courtney Love was extremely upset when she told the press that her late husband and Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain's ashes had been stolen from her Hollywood home. But according to Love's publicist, that never happened.
Cobain committed suicide in 1994, and he was cremated. Some of his ashes were scattered in a New York City Buddhist temple and others were put in the Wishkah River in Washington. Love reportedly keeps some of his ashes in a pink, teddy-bear-shaped bag, which she said went missing in June.
"I can't believe anyone would take Kurt's ashes from me," Love told U.K. tabloid News Of The World. "I find it disgusting and right now I'm suicidal. If I don't get them back I don't know what i'll do."
But Love's publicist Alan Nierob now says Cobain's ashes "were never taken," and that the burglary was "erroneously reported."
We aren't sure what this means for Natascha Stellmach's art exhibition. On Wednesday, Stellmach said she had Cobain's ashes (but would not reveal how she'd acquired them), which she was planning to use in a joint in an art exhibit about suicide and later smoke. Smoke 'em if you got 'em? Or don't got 'em, we suppose.
