The arrival of Fucked Up's The Chemistry Of Common Life will be bookended by the release of a new single and the annual "Fucked Up Weekend," which will take over three Toronto clubs during the Halloween weekend.
"Crooked Head" is out now on seven-inch vinyl backed with "I Hate Summer." The A-side is an edit of a song that will appear on The Chemistry Of Common Life, which is out Oct. 7. As for the B-side, here's how the band describe it on their blog:
"THE SONG IS REALLY SHORT, its like less than 2 and a half minutes long, and its PRETTY FAST and SORT OF SOUNDS LIKE THE UNDERTONES because we use that drum beat we used on TEENAGE PROBLEMS and NEAT PARTS and maybe one other song in our discography."
The Chemistry Of Common Life features vocal contributions from Vivian Girls and Katie Stelmanis.
Fucked Up were recently on the cover of NME, but singer Damian "Pink Eyes" Abraham has also been making headlines elsewhere.
We're pretty sure we've seen that cover somewhere before.
You can see Pink Eyes, guitarists 10,000 Marbles and Concentration Camp (a.k.a. Gulag), bassist Slumpy (a.k.a. Laundry a.k.a. Mustard Gas) and drummer Guinea Beat (a.k.a. Mr. Jo) cause total mayhem here:
