Juno Award-winning singer/songwriter Serena Ryder's third album, Is It O.K, will be released on Nov. 11 through EMI Music Canada.
The album, which will be released in the U.S. through Atlantic next year, was produced by John Alagia (Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer). It was recorded at Village Recording Studios in Santa Monica, Calif., which is where Ryder's favourite album, Fleetwood Mac's Rumours, was made.
"I was in Stevie Nicks' vocal booth with candles all around and stained-glass windows and mirrors everywhere," Ryder says. "It was totally fabulous. I definitely felt the energy. I wanted to tap my veins into the walls, you know?"
The Toronto-born Ryder independently released her Falling Out debut in 1999. Her major label debut, Unlikely Emergency, followed in 2005. She also released a collection of covers titled If Your Memory Serves You Well, which featured her interpretations of well-known Canadian songs, in 2006. Ryder won the 2008 Juno for new artist of the year.
Ryder will play Toronto's Mod Club on Nov. 19 and is planning a cross-Canada tour for early next year.
Here are the tracks on Is It O.K:
"Sweeping The Ashes"
"Little Bit Of Red"
"Brand New Love"
"Hiding Place"
"Blown Like The Wind"
"All For Love"
"Weak In The Knees"
"Stumbling Over You"
"Why Can't I Love You"
"When The Truth Just Walks Away"
"Is It O.K"
"What I Wanna Know"
"Dark As The Black"
