If you've been waiting with baited breath for news about that new Nickelback album, you can breathe a bit easier because the band have announced a title and are giving you the chance to get the first single for free.
The Vancouver band's sixth album is titled Dark Horse (we wonder what The Besnard Lakes think of that) and will be released on Nov. 18 through EMI Music Canada. It was co-produced by Nickelback and Shania Twain's ex-hubby, Mutt Lange (Bryan Adams, Def Leppard).
You can download the first single, "Gotta Be Somebody," for free from 6 a.m. on Sept. 29 to 6 a.m. the next day through Nickelback's website. The single will be released to radio on the 29th and will go on sale through iTunes the next day.
Frontman Chad Kroeger and his brother, bassist Mike Kroeger, told the BBC that "there's a lot of truly filthy subject matter and adult themes" on Dark Horse. We really, really, really hope it's not this level of filthy, because... yuck.
Nickelback have sold more than 26 million records worldwide and their last album, 2005's All The Right Reasons, sold 10 million of those.
