Toronto singer/songwriter and guitarist Peter Katz sold more than 3,000 copies of his More Nights album on his own, but it will be released again on a more widespread basis by the Universal-distributed Curve Music label on Oct. 7.
"It will have a fresh new track order and will have more aggressive anti-copyright language than I had on my self-release," Katz wrote on his website last week.
Katz has toured across Canada numerous times, and also played in the U.K. and Ireland, to promote More Nights. He'll celebrate the album's relaunch at a show with Emma-Lee at Toronto's St. Stephen-In-The-Fields Church on Oct. 17. Katz will be backed by his band The Curious and will also perform a few songs with Emma-Lee. People who buy advance tickets through TicketWeb will also have an opportunity to get an EP featuring solo acoustic performances of select songs from More Nights.
Katz won the CBC Galaxie Rising Star Award and the grand prize at Toronto's Indie Week, and even received a mark of 90 on a ChartAttack report card for his rock, folk and jazz-influenced music following a Canadian Music Week performance. He has also composed music for numerous modern dance choreographers.
Katz will also perform at Fanshawe College in London, Ont. on Sept. 30 before embarking on a national tour at the end of October.
Here are the songs on More Nights:
"OK"
"Slate"
"Posters"
"These Are The Days"
"I Do"
"Forgiveness"
"It's Only Wood"
"Pictures"
"The Dawning"
"More Nights"
