Streetlight Manifesto have released three albums in the last four years, and they'll kick it up a notch next year when they release the first of eight CDs of cover songs through Victory Records and the ska/punk band's own Pentimento Music Company label.
99 Songs Of Revolution Project is an eight-disc collection of covers that aren't specific to any genre. Streetlight Manifesto will release two of the discs early next year. The Bandits Of The Acoustic Revolution side project will handle two more CDs. Two discs each from two other Streetlight Manifesto projects will bring the total to eight. While Victory will release the albums on CD and as downloads, Pentimento will issue them on vinyl.
"This will be a nice way for us to get into the studio and put out some new music as well as tide over people until our next full-length," says singer/guitarist Tomas Kalnoky. "It's been a project that has been on the back burner for too long, and it's time to do something about it."
Streetlight Manifesto will play the U.S., Australia, Japan and the U.K. before the end of the year.
