The Killers were once dubbed "America's Best British Band" by an American magazine, and the Las Vegas group will showcase more of their late '80s British-inspired sounds when their third studio album, Day & Age, is released by Island Records on Nov. 25.
Stuart Price (Madonna, Gwen Stefani) produced the album at the band's studio in Vegas and his studio in London, England. The cover was done by British artist Paul Normansell, who painted individual band member's portraits. Lead single "Human" will be released on Sept. 30.
Although a track list for Day & Age hasn't yet been confirmed, a press release lists several songs in addition to "Human," including "Losing Touch," "Spaceman," "Goodnight, Travel Well" and "I Can't Stay."
The band plan to release their third Christmas single, "Joseph, Better You Than Me," which is reportedly a collaboration with Elton John. They released "Great Big Sled" in 2006 and "Don't Shoot Me Santa" last year as charity records to benefit Bono's Project (RED).
Vocalist/keyboardist Brandon Flowers, guitarist Dave Keuning, bassist Mark Stoermer and drummer Ronnie Vannucci, Jr. achieved quick success with their Hot Fuss debut in 2004. That album, its Sam's Town follow-up and a 2007 B-side collection called Sawdust have combined to sell more than 12 million copies worldwide.
