Cancer Can't Stop Special Ops

Special Ops
Montreal rockers Special Ops faced a crisis when bassist Waldo Thornhill was diagnosed with colon cancer two days before the band were set to launch a Canadian tour in May.

But the hard rock group used their down time to start recording their third album. While Thornhill underwent treatment for the cancer, working on the album acted as another form of therapy for him.

"Recording this new album is my greatest triumph and my bass has been my weapon of choice in conquering this small battle in life," says Thornhill.
