UPDATE: This show has now been rescheduled to Dec. 15. All tickets for the Sept. 9 show will be valid for the new date.
Oasis have postponed their show scheduled to take place on Tuesday night at the John Labatt Centre in London, Ont. after guitarist/singer Noel Gallagher was pushed on stage at the Toronto Virgin Festival on Sunday.
A man ran on stage during Oasis' headlining set and pushed Gallagher over while the band were performing "(What's The Story) Morning Glory." He also tried to attack Liam Gallagher, but was dragged off by security before reaching the singer. Noel Gallagher apparently "fell heavily" on to his amplifier and, though he returned to finish Oasis' set, he was taken to hospital afterwards. He's suffering from bruising to his ribs and hip.
"He was examined in a local hospital after the band's performance and has been advised to rest," a Live Nation press release reads. "Unfortunately, despite resting up yesterday, the extent of his injuries mean he will not be able to perform tonight."
The postponement also affects Ryan Adams and his band The Cardinals, who were opening for Oasis on their Canadian tour. Adams and the Gallaghers have spoken of their mutual admiration of each other throughout the tour, and Adams carried that over on his blog yesterday.
"I cannot believe someone was disrespectful to such a kind man," Adams wrote. "I hope is okay. We are here for ya bro."
Daniel Sullivan, 47, of Pickering, Ont. has been charged with assault. He appeared in court at Toronto's Old City Hall yesterday and was remanded until Oct. 24.
