California's
Cold War Kids will release their sophomore album,
Loyalty To Loyalty, on Sept. 23 through Downtown Recordings.
Cold War Kids bassist Matt Maust told Rolling Stone that the album was influenced by philosopher Josiah Royce, who wrote extensively about loyalty, and novelist Ayn Rand. You can hear "Something Is Not Right With Me" on Cold War Kids'
MySpace page.
Nathan Willett (vocals, piano, guitar), Matt Maust (bass), Jonnie Russell (guitar) and Matt Aveiro (drums) began playing together in 2004 and released three EPs before dropping their
Robbers & Cowards debut album in 2006. Their music has also been used in episodes of
Entourage,
Gossip Girl and
The Sarah Silverman Program. Maust's black and white photographs also appear in
What It Is: What It Is, a book he co-authored with Paul G. Maziar.
