CASBY Awards Coming In October

Tokyo Police Club, Neverending White Lights, Die Mannequin, The Flatliners, Sam Roberts and Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker are among the nominees for the 2008 CASBY (Canadian Artists Selected By You) Music Awards.
The awards will be presented by Toronto radio station 102.1 The Edge on Oct. 22 at Toronto's Kool Haus. You can vote for your favourite new artist, single, album and indie release until Oct. 17 on The Edge's website. The show will feature performances by Sloan, City And Colour, Neverending White Lights, Tokyo Police Club and Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker (USS).
"102.1 The Edge and the CASBYs have a long history of launching the best in new rock talent, and our listeners have always been the first to recognize the next big thing," says Edge program director Ross Winters. "These musicians and songwriters are making Canadian new rock a global force. We are thrilled to have so much talent on one stage."
The Edge began handing out the CASBY Music Awards in 1981 when they were originally called the U-Knows.
