New Great Lake Swimmers In 2009

Fans will be able to find a new Great Lake Swimmers album in stores early next spring, according to Nettwerk.

Though there's no other information about the release yet, the band will precede it with a number of fall tour dates. They're also getting ready for the release of the Great Lake Swimmers HD Concert Special on Nov. 5. The performance was shot last September at Toronto's Phoenix Concert Theatre. It's been edited in high definition and will screen at select Cineplex Odeon theatres with a similar Joel Plaskett Emergency special on the same day. Here's a trailer for the concert special:

Great Lake Swimmers were recently nominated for an XM Canada Verge Music Award. The winners, who will be decided by votes from the satellite radio station's website, will be announced on Sept. 24 at Toronto's Tattoo Rock Parlour.
