The Buttless Chaps

You'll be able to see Buttless Chaps somewhere other than a gay pride parade when Cartography, the band's new album, hits stores on Oct. 14 via Mint Records.

The band's sixth studio release was recorded at Vancouver's The Hive Creative Labs by Jesse Gander (Pride Tiger, The Pack A.D.). It features new drummer Dan Gaucher, who replaced Torben Wilson. Former Rheostatics bassist and The Violet Archers singer Tim Vesely appears on a few tracks.

The Buttless Chaps formed 10 years ago in Victoria and have released five albums since then. Their last was 2006's Where Night Holds Light. The band's lineup includes singer/guitar/banjo player Dave Gowans, guitarist/synthesizer player Lasse Lutick, keyboardist Morgan McDonald, singer/multi-instrumentalist Ida Nilsen and Gaucher.
