No Fun For Stooges

The Stooges will play Toronto's Massey Hall on Wednesday, but they'll have to do it with rented and donated equipment and instruments after being robbed in Montreal on Monday morning.
The Iggy Pop-fronted punk pioneers played their first Canadian show in more than 30 years at the Osheaga Music And Arts Festival on Sunday evening and parked their truck in front of the Embassy Suites hotel on Saint Antoine Ouest, where they were staying, after their performance. When road manager Eric Fischer went out to the street at 7:30 on Monday morning, the yellow, five-metre Penske truck was gone — along with tens of thousands of dollars worth of gear inside it.
"I don't know if it's a syndicate that's targeting bands on the road, or what," Fischer told the Detroit Free Press. "But nobody ever seems to see this gear again."
The stolen truck had a Michigan licence plate with the number AC46493. Fischer has asked anyone who has information about the missing equipment to email him at nycentral13@gmail.com or phone him at (646) 932-1907. The extensive list of stolen goods and pictures of some of them can be found here.
